Etna Vineyard tour experience

For gourmets there will be a visit to a vineyards and wine cellars in one of the best wineries on Etna.

The Etna Wine Tour is an experience that combines the wonders of the Etna volcano with the culture of wine.

Guided tour accompanied by an authorized Naturalistic Guide.
Transfers from one site to another will be made by car, Jeep, or Minivan.

Nowdays, Etna is the third most important region in Italy for its wine production, thanks to the variety of its soils , microclimates and the extraordinary quality of its wines. The enological production of the Etna region is characterized by territorial and wine growing conditions unique in the world: the volcanic soil, the cultivation up to 900 meters above sea level, the native vines variety , both white and red. Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio for red wines, Carricante and Catarratto for white wines.
Accompanied by one of our authorized Naturalist Guides, we will visit the most beautiful places of our volcano, passing through old and recent lava flows,  volcanic caves , craters and areas of considerable naturalistic value.

Guided tour of an Etna winery

Our Etna Wine Tour gives you the opportunity to visit one of the best wineries of our volcano, located in the eastern territory of the Etna volcano, about 500 m above sea level.
The microclimate of the wine cellar is characterized by remarkable temperature variations, due to the altitude of the volcano (3,360 m) which delay the maturation of the product, bringing both freshness and fragrance to the wines. The characteristics of the volcanic soils, on the other hand, give the vineyards a strong minerality, which is felt in all the products of the territory.
Thanks to these very special conditions, elegant, complex, savory wines are produced, with an identity that stands out in the Italian and international wine scene.
The visit to the wine cellar will be guided by an AIS Sommelier, you will be surprised by the stories about the production processes, winemaking methods and conservation of the various types of wine.
Then, we will move to the magnificent rooms, where you will taste 5 local wines together with the tasting of many typical products.
During the olfactory and tasting itinerary, the Sommeliers will make you appreciate the peculiar aromas and characteristics of the Etna wines.

During the winter months, the itinerary may be subject to changes at the guide’s discretion due to snow or ice, closed roads, or the inability to access impassable roads or paths, always respecting the rules and safety.

Just October 2, 2025, the “Funivie dell’Etna” company, as owner of Silvestri’s craters, our trekking destination around 2000mt, imposed a ticket of €5,00 per person to visit the craters. The payment is only in cash and you can pay directly to the company.

The tasting in Zafferana etnea will not be carried out due to a Gastronomic event that does not allow the regular transit within the municipality of Zafferana etnea .
